Conference Program

The Society holds biennial conferences. Recent conferences have been held on the third weekend of September. While the schedule for future events may change, typically conferences begin on Thursday evening and continue on Friday and Saturday with speakers, hands-on activities, presentations, a silent auction, and a book sale. A concluding banquet is held on Saturday night.

The Movable Book Society and the Ticknor Society are jointly sponsoring the 2016 conference.

Scholarship Application
The Movable Book Society is awarding a limited number of scholarships by lottery for the 2016 conference. Each scholarship will cover the conference fee and one year’s membership, as well as a $500 stipend to be used for hotel and/or flight. All are welcome to apply. Previous scholarship recipients are not eligible. 

The Movable Book Society is joining with the Ticknor Society to recognize excellence in paper engineering among undergraduate and/or graduate students through a prize for Emerging Paper Engineers.

Meggendorfer Prize for Artist Books
The Movable Book Society recognizes the best pop-up and movable artist books with the Meggendorfer Prize for Artist Books. Qualifying books must include pop-up and/or movable structures and must have been created in the past 3 years. Artists must be at least 21 years of age.
